“Dance of The Vampires” is rightly known as one of the most outstanding horror satires in film history. Stylistically confident, with plenty of humour, gentle horror and great attention to detail, the film captivates with its excellent image design and colourful character portrayal. Professor Abronsius, vampirologist and bat expert, travels with his naive assistant Alfred deep into the wintry heart of the Carpathian Mountains to prove to the academic world that vampires exist. In the inn of the Jewish owner Shagal, they find the first evidence of the existence of the eerie creatures. Soon the innkeeper's daughter, Sarah, is kidnapped by vampires and the two heroes make their way, albeit in a rather amateurish manner, to the castle of the terrifying Count Krolock to free the pretty maiden.
